What we are (and aren't)
Pahrump AC Repair is a free referral service that connects homeowners with independent, licensed local HVAC contractors. We are not an HVAC contractor. We don't send technicians, we don't sell equipment, and we never charge homeowners anything. When you call our number or submit a form, your request goes to an independent, licensed Nevada HVAC contractor serving the Pahrump Valley, who may pay us a referral fee. That fee never changes your price β contractors treat referred jobs like any other job.
The rest of the site β the cost guides, the vetting checklists, the company guide β is free with no strings, whether you ever use the referral service or not.
How our research is done
Every cost range on this site follows the same method: we start from national installed-cost and repair-cost datasets tracking real projects, then adjust for Nye County labor rates and Pahrump's actual housing and equipment mix β the manufactured-home packaged units, the 3β4 ton splits, the dust-driven failure patterns. Each guide carries a methodology note and an "updated" date, and we re-verify ranges as the market moves (2025β2026 moved a lot: the R-454B refrigerant transition, expired federal credits, rising labor).
Local facts are checked against local sources: Nevada State Contractors Board records for licensing, Valley Electric Association (Pahrump's actual utility β not NV Energy, whatever the rebate ads say) for rate context, and Nye County for permitting requirements. When we can't verify something, we say so or leave it out.
How we vet contractors before referring them
- β Active Nevada license β C-21 classification verified at the NSCB, bond in place, no recent disciplinary history.
- β Insurance β liability and workers' compensation coverage confirmed.
- β Real Pahrump service history β regularly working in the valley, including manufactured-home experience.
- β Quote practices β written, itemized quotes before work begins.
- π Ongoing review β we re-check licensing periodically and remove contractors who generate complaints.
Why Pahrump specifically
Because generic national HVAC content fails this valley. Pahrump sits near 2,700 feet in the Mojave β summers past 100Β°F for weeks, dust that eats condenser coils, a huge stock of manufactured homes running packaged units, and a market split between local shops and Las Vegas companies driving over the hump. Every page on this site is written for those conditions, not for a national average homeowner who doesn't exist here.
